ADHD MEETS…
Motherhood
The school run, forgotten forms, mum guilt and loving your children while desperately needing five minutes when nobody touches you.

Launching soon
With Emily Manson. A podcast about what happens when ADHD meets motherhood, relationships, work and the everyday task of remembering why you walked into a room.
Expect honest conversations, ridiculous stories, guests and the occasional useful takeaway. Some episodes will be just me. Others will involve someone brave enough to join in.
Your host. Probably mid-tangent.
Hi, I’m Emily Manson. Mum, overthinker, enthusiastic oversharer and the person behind ADHD MEETS.
I wanted to make a podcast for chaotic mums like me: women who love their families, have a lot going on in their heads and sometimes wonder how everyone else seems to be keeping up.
I’ll be sharing my own experiences, asking questions and having conversations about the things we often laugh off, feel embarrassed about or assume only happen to us.
Sometimes it’ll be weird. Sometimes I’ll think I’m being funny. Sometimes it’ll get a bit deeper.
Most time I’ll forget the original questions.
I’m figuring things out too. Hopefully we can have a laugh and feel a little less alone along the way.
In their brains. And on their phones.
You love your kids. You’ve got good intentions. You might also have forgotten the school dress-up day, reheated your coffee four times and spent the evening replaying something you said in 2014.
Welcome. You’re in the right place.
ADHD MEETS is where we talk about the funny, frustrating and sometimes emotional bits of living with ADHD while trying to keep everyone fed, vaguely organised and wearing something clean.
No perfect routines required. Come as you are. Late is fine.
There’s a lot to talk about. Staying on topic could be an issue.
ADHD MEETS…
The school run, forgotten forms, mum guilt and loving your children while desperately needing five minutes when nobody touches you.
ADHD MEETS…
Appointments, birthdays, packed lunches and being the person who’s supposed to remember everything when you can’t find your own phone.
ADHD MEETS…
Replaying conversations, reading far too much into a full stop and wondering whether everyone secretly thinks you’re annoying.
ADHD MEETS…
Communication, affection, arguments, sharing responsibilities and trying to explain what’s happening in your head without starting six other stories.
ADHD MEETS…
Forgetting to reply, accidentally interrupting, oversharing and caring about people even when your messages suggest you’ve disappeared.
ADHD MEETS…
Big ideas, last-minute bursts, boring admin and wanting to do everything while struggling to start the one thing that’s due.
ADHD MEETS…
The washing chair, doom piles, lost keys and buying another planner because this one will definitely change your life.
ADHD MEETS…
New hobbies, abandoned subscriptions and the parcel arriving after you’ve forgotten you ordered it.
ADHD MEETS…
Feeling overwhelmed, taking things personally, losing your patience and dealing with the guilt afterwards.
ADHD MEETS…
Everyone talking at once, the television being too loud and suddenly being unable to tolerate your own waistband.
ADHD MEETS…
Looking back at your life through a different lens, understanding yourself and working out what you actually need.
ADHD MEETS…
Being exhausted with a brain that’s still holding a meeting. Plus the guilt of sitting down when there’s always something left to do.
ADHD MEETS…
The interests that take over your life for a fortnight. Will I still care by the time the equipment arrives? Unclear.
ADHD MEETS…
People-pleasing, trying to fit in and learning to take up space without apologising for your entire personality.
An introduction. With a strong chance of oversharing.
Why I’m starting ADHD MEETS, who it’s for and what you can expect: motherhood, real life, honest conversations and subjects I’ll try very hard to finish before starting another.
First episode coming soon.
I’m listening
Well, I might interrupt. But I am listening.
An unforgettable parenting moment? A thought you assumed nobody else had? A subject you wish people talked about more? I’d love to hear it.
